Project title: “Climate Change Mitigation in Guria – Civil Activism for Clean Supsa”, the project was ongoing in the frames of Climate program of Georgia (GEO CAP) supported by the EU , which is implementing by the CENN in partnership of the partner organisations in four regions (August-December 2022).
Aim: Fostering of climate change mitigation and adaptation in the Guria region. Assessment of the risks of pollution of the more specifically identified problem – the Supsa river basin flowing into the Black Sea and establish a preventing mechanism by the engagement and awareness raising of the citizens.
Results: Chaotic landfills were identified in Ozurgeti and Lanchkhuti municipalities; Informational banners were placed on the banks of the river; A social media campaign “Take a picture of Supsa” was conducted;
A video clip and other reference materials have been prepared; The recommendations were developed; A summary forum was held with the participation of local government, non-governmental sector, industry specialists, media and project beneficiaries.
